The experimental animation and projection mapping was created for the facade of Le Voix du Nord, the editorial building of the newspaper. The paper first appeared in Lille in April 1941 at a time when the region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais was being ruled by a German military government in Brussels. The newspaper’s tag-line described itself as the “Resistance organ of French Flanders.”
The work is a contemplative visual poem dedicated to all journalists who risk(ed) their lives for the freedom of information particular to the founders of the Le Voix Du Nord and journalists who died in recent wars in Gaza and Ukraine.
Traditional and digital animation techniques meet archive material and create a collage out of images, forms, colors and rhythm.
